Loving the lost during #lent
Melissa, our Volunteer Coordinator, serves meals to the homeless at the Civic Center in Santa Ana. You can meet the men, women & children we serve on the streets and provide them with a hot meal too. Use this meaningful season of Lent and the coming of Easter to shift your focus toward the service of those that are seeking new life & new beginnings.

Good friend of the mission, Stephanie Jackson, stopped by to discuss some future exciting projects with the Development team and caught a buggy full of kiddos out for a ride! We love how far our family extends in that our volunteers and donors care so deeply for our families on campus.
Big things to come and we couldn’t do it without you!

Tell us: what are you doing for #lent?
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Easter season, and as most people position themselves for the Spring celebration of new life in Jesus we want to give you opportunities to participate in the new lives of men, women and children at the Orange County Rescue Mission.
Day #1 of Lent: check out our ‘urgent needs’ list and help provide basic necessities for the families that are working through our programs like Whitney and her son Mikey: http://bit.ly/1gaDFVf

As of today… we are officially at 100% occupancy.
Praise God, that is 192 beds with someone to lay their head down, a seat in our cafeteria and the journey to new life.

First step… in more ways than one.
We have almost 70 kiddos on our campus. Where parents and families come here to leave behind old ways of life and dark past, we love to celebrate those first steps into new life and transformation. Baby Oscar’s first step is a beautiful picture of the first steps we can all take in a new direction.
So excited for this little man and his family- praying for big blessings and more firsts to come- we are celebrating by your side!

What does life look like after the Rescue Mission?
Transformation is real: Amanda graduated from the Village of Hope last year, so we paid her a visit to see how she is doing.
If you have 3 minutes, this video is a must-see for evidence that you should never write someone off, miracles happen every day, and we delight in our front row seats to witness God’s handiwork.

This is the next generation…
While they sleep, we like to dream about the possibilities of their future and who they might grow up to be. Imagine the stories of where they come from, what they overcome and who they might be. God makes beautiful things and with your help, we are helping to raise almost 70 kids at the Village of Hope alone.

We have an extremely high expectation for the service and life restoring programs we give to the least, the last, the lost. Our program has been thoughtfully and intentionally designed to inspire hope in those that we serve and we are committed to fostering an environment that moves men, women and children into healthy positions of self sufficiency and independence. This means that, while we…

Our family at the Orange County Rescue Mission has members of all ages & backgrounds. Alex is one of our younger guys that has seen a lot of life and brings so much value to our community here.
Have you heard his story?

Part of generosity involves giving - how we give, what we give, when we give - and maybe most importantly, how we feel when we give.
